Whether you're new to crypto or a seasoned investor, this guide will walk you through everything you need to get started.
Before you begin setup, make sure your Trezor device is genuine and has not been tampered with. It should arrive in a sealed box with no signs of damage. Trezor devices never come with a pre-installed recovery seed—if yours did, do not use it and contact Trezor Support immediately.
Go to suite.trezor.io and download Trezor Suite, our official desktop app. It’s the safest and easiest way to manage your crypto with your Trezor. Once installed, plug in your Trezor Model T or Model One via USB and follow the on-screen instructions.
If prompted, install the latest firmware. It ensures your device is running with the most up-to-date security and features.
Trezor Suite will guide you through creating a new wallet. During this process, you'll be shown your recovery seed—a list of 12, 18, or 24 words. This seed is the only way to recover your funds if your Trezor is lost, stolen, or damaged.
Important:
Write the recovery seed down on paper (not digitally).
Store it in a safe, offline location.
Never share it with anyone.
Trezor will never ask for your seed. Anyone who has it can access your funds.
With your wallet set up, you can start adding supported cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and many others.
